Quantum Dots

Nanometer sized semiconductor particles composed of a core and a shell. Semiconductor materials used in quantum dots include cadmium selenide (CdSe), cadmium telluride (CdTe), cadmium sulfide (CdS), zinc selenide (ZnSe), zinc sulfide (ZnS), indium phosphide (InP), and silicon. The size and the shape of the quatum dots determine the characteristics.
