Description:

The Functional Engineered Nano Architectonics (FENA) center was initially formed as one of six centers as part of the Focus Center Research Program (FCRP) initiated by the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC). Phase V of the FCRP ended in January 2013 and ongoing microelectronics research is now sponsored by DARPA and industry participants in Semiconductor Technology Advanced Research Network (STARnet) (FCRP Phase VI). Research via SRC at UCLA is now conducted through the Function Accelerated NanoMaterial Engineering (FAME), one of six university-based research centers established by the SRC through STARnet.

The Western Institute of Nanoelectronics (WIN) was a SRC Nanoelectronics Research Initiative (NRI) center. As part of NRI Phase 1.5, WIN ended on March 31, 2013. Some research started in the WIN Center is being continued in the STARnet FAME Center (www.src.org/program/nri/win).
